During the meeting with Head of the Republic of Karelia Arthur Parfenchikov, it was agreed to organise in 2025 two specialised camp sessions for children of the participants in the special military operation. This new project is implemented together with the Defenders of the Fatherland State Foundation and the Country for Children Foundation. Following the inspection, Maria Lvova-Belova passed on recommendations to Arthur Parfenchikov on ways to improve the regional system for the prevention of social orphanhood.
At the meeting with heads of institutions of the system for the prevention of child neglect, guardianship authorities, and members of the commission for the affairs of minors and protection of their rights under the Government of the Republic, the Children’s Rights Commissioner gave a number of recommendations, including on the need to assess the reasonableness of each child’s institutionalisation and to analyse decisions on deprivation or restriction of parental rights.
Additionally, the Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights visited Children’s Home and the Nadezhda (Hope) Children’s Centre where she held a personal reception of citizens.
