During the working meeting with Head of Ingushetia Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, Maria Lvova-Belova stressed that today there were no children in Ingushetia who were being brought up in organisations for orphans. Family upbringing is an absolute priority in the region: 558 children are being brought up under kinship care, and 29 are undergoing rehabilitation at a social protection institution. According to Maria Lvova-Belova, it is possible to maintain positive dynamics if the support for families experiencing difficulties is enhanced.
The Children’s Commissioner held a working meeting with heads of the region’s relevant agencies and institutions, where she gave a number of recommendations.
Maria Lvova-Belova also held a personal reception of citizens and visited the Republican Social Rehabilitation Centre for Minors. In addition, the Children’s Rights Commissioner laid flowers at the Eternal Flame in the Memorial Complex in Nazran.
