The event marked the launch of the second season of the competition, implemented by the Russian Znaniye Society jointly with the Movement of the First public-and-state movement of children and youth at the President’s instruction.
Yelena Yampolskaya announced that, in accordance with the President’s instruction, the second season of the nationwide competition would be a targeted initiative focused on the development of games and toys for preschool education. The initiative forms part of a broader set of measures aimed at effectively addressing educational challenges in preschool institutions. The measures were developed by the Presidential Executive Office together with the Ministry of Education, and approved by the President.
According to Yelena Yampolskaya, the competition is intended to encourage the creation of engaging and up-to-date games and toys rooted in traditional Russian spiritual and moral values.
The key update for the second season is the introduction of a new competition format that includes three categories corresponding to different stages of product development, from initial ideas to prototypes and finished games and toys.
The thematic areas of the competition remain unchanged: Family and Traditional Spiritual and Moral Values; Technological Breakthrough; History and Culture of Russia; and Heroes of the 21st Century. This year, an additional category has been introduced, Unity of the Peoples of Russia.
Individuals aged 14 and older, as well as creative teams and organisations, are eligible to participate by submitting their ideas, prototypes, or completed projects for games and toys.
Winners will have their products featured in the Ministry of Education’s list of recommended equipment for kindergartens and receive assistance with promotion as well as other incentives. Finalists will also receive support: their projects will be added to a special bank of ideas and prototypes, from which they may be launched into production, with appropriate rewards provided to the creators. Finished games and toys may also be included in a register of verified and recommended products bearing the Native Toy label.
The results of the competition are expected to be announced in October 2026 at a games and toys festival and an industry exhibition.
