Participants in the meeting included Governor of Kaluga Region Anatoly Artamonov, representatives of the Presidential Executive Office, the Government Cabinet, the Federation Council and the State Duma, relevant federal and regional executive agencies and representatives of business, public and professional aviation organisations.
The meeting addressed prospects for developing general aviation in Russian regions, broadening the use of Russian airspace for general aviation, and implementing the federal executive agencies’ Action Plan for developing general aviation.
The meeting also discussed the proposals concerning promotion of aviation development and creating conditions for attracting investments to construction of new and reconstruction of existing airfield network facilities for ultra-light and light aircraft.
Particular attention was given to reducing prohibitive barriers to the use of general aviation in Russian airspace, creating transparent and accessible procedures for filing an application to fly and ensure appropriate dispatching and meteorological services.
The meeting also examined the implementation of the Government’s Plan for the Development of General Aviation, some crucial elements of which have already been implemented.
Members of the commission also visited Kaluga International Airport and examined the operation of its infrastructure.
