The message reads, in part:
“We have lost a talented pianist whose virtuoso talent was greatly appreciated by classical music lovers. Teaching played a particularly important part in Mr Krainev’s life, and he taught several generations of talented performers.
His fond memory will live on in the hearts of his colleagues, friends, and students, and in the hearts of all who knew this exceptional man.”
Pianist and Artist of Honour of the USSR Vladimir Krainev was married to well-known figure skating coach Tatyana Tarasova. He died at the age of 68 after a serious illness in Hannover, Germany, where he had been living these last years, working as a professor at the Higher School of Music and Theatre.
