The amendments allow for the application of uniform requirements to process signature lists and verify voters’ signatures at elections and referendums at all levels.
The Federal Law also specifies the list of documents to be presented by a political party (its regional branch or another structural subdivision) to the election commission in nominating candidates and submitting candidate lists.
Amendments are to be made to the federal laws On Political Parties, On Basic Guarantees of Electoral Rights and the Rights of the Citizens of the Russian Federation to Participate in a Referendum, On Presidential Elections in the Russian Federation and On Election of Deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
