The message reads, in part:
“This holiday is rooted in the lofty ideals of unity, friendship and good neighbourliness, which have traditionally played a significant role in the life of the Republic.
Both in the times of peace and during terrible ordeals, the Daghestani people acted in unity with the other peoples of Russia. They made a significant contribution to the nation’s socio-economic and spiritual development, strengthening the Russian state.
Military valour and unity of the Daghestani people manifested themselves during the Great Patriotic War and in the fight against international terrorism, when Daghestanis made a strong stand in support of the constitutional order and territorial integrity of the Russian Federation.
I am confident that further consolidation of Daghestani society and joint efforts by all peoples of Dagestan will make the Republic one of the most prosperous and successful regions of Russia.”
