The President’s message said, in particular:
“Relations between Russia and Kyrgyzstan have traditionally developed in a spirit of friendship and trusting cooperation in various fields. I am sure that common fundamental interests of our peoples, our similar approaches to key international issues and our mutual political will enable us to build and expand the multifaceted strategic partnership between our two countries and help strengthen stability and security in Central Asia”.
Mr Medvedev noted that Russia and Kyrgyzstan have reached a new level in cooperation in the CIS, with Kyrgyzstan currently holding the CIS presidency. The President said he was sure that the summit of the CIS Council of Heads of State in Bishkek would make a visible contribution to strengthening the organisation.
