The main focus of the exhibition of goods produced by manufacturers in Russia and Kazakhstan is cross-border and inter-regional cooperation in the context of ensuring food and energy security in the two countries.
Seven Kazakhstani and 13 Russian regions have their products on display.
Mr Medvedev and Mr Nazarbayev examined developments in fields such as biochemistry, energy, pharmaceuticals, the ore and mining industry, information technology and management systems.
The exhibition is part of the Forum of Leaders of Russian and Kazakhstani Border Regions.
The two Presidents watched the launch of the Voskhod-Chrome Ore Concentration Plant via video broadcast and wished the plant’s workers success. Half of the financing for the plant’s operations comes from the Eurasian Development Bank, founded by Russia and Kazakhstan.
