Vladimir Putin invited an Uralvagonzavod employee Igor Kholmanskikh to accompany him on the trip. During the flight, Mr Kholmanskikh informed the President about the working conditions at the plant and the lives of the plant’s workers.
Before the meeting on the defence industry development, Vladimir Putin will meet with Uralvagonzavod workers’ committee. In December 2011, the first workers’ committee in the country was created at Uralvagonzavod in support of Vladimir Putin's candidacy for the post of President of Russia. This initiative was supported by workers’ groups across the country and became the basis for the organisation of inter-regional social and political movement In Defence of the Working Man.
