The President said, in particular, in his message:
“In today’s information era the media’s traditionally important role has taken on even greater significance. Journalists’ professionalism, talent, objective and unbiased reporting and at times even civic courage shape society’s perception of events and how it sees its future and its past.
In Russia, where thousands of media outlets operate in every region of the country, it is particularly important that the state authorities continue to do everything necessary to give the media a good working environment and genuine independence in reporting information.”
