The message reads, in part:
“The Interior Ministry Troops have demonstrated true courage and heroism at numerous moments throughout our country’s entire history. We will always remember the names of those who fought so bravely on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 when our country faced great trials, and through their deeds proved their loyalty to their military oath and their duty as soldiers.
Today, the Interior Ministry Troops are rightly one of the key elements in the Interior Ministry’s organisation, with solid human and technical resources and substantial operational capability. They are effective in carrying out their missions of maintaining constitutional order and guaranteeing our country’s interests and our citizens’ security.
I am sure that the Interior Ministry Troops will continue to display this high level of skill and professionalism, operating competently in even the most difficult circumstances, and remaining true to the fine traditions set by their predecessors.”
Interior Ministry Troops Day was established by Presidential Executive Order in 1996 and is celebrated on March 27.
