The President’s message says in particular:
“The establishment of Khabarovsk Region was a major milestone in the history of extensive settlement of the Far East, strengthening Russia’s borders and developing partnership ties with our neighbours.
Through their stubborn and selfless labour over these decades, several generations of residents have turned Khabarovsk Region into a fast-growing region with great economic, intellectual and cultural potential.
Today you have important new tasks. They include actively modernising the economy, improving infrastructure, making rational use of the region’s natural resource wealth, and expanding business and cultural contacts with the Asia-Pacific countries. Of course, raising people’s living standards and providing affordable housing and quality healthcare and education are all undoubted priorities for the region”.
Khabarovsk Region is in Russia’s Far East and borders China. The distance from Moscow to Khabarovsk is 8,533 km.
