The message reads, in part:
“This holiday marks the completion of pilgrimages to Islamic holy sites, and is an important, integral part of our multinational people’s rich spiritual heritage. It holds a deep moral significance, and sustains the joy that stems from spiritual strengthening and faith. Eid al-Adha reminds us that Islam’s traditions are grounded in the eternal values of goodness, justice, charity and caring for others.
It is encouraging to see that life in Russia’s Muslim community is actively developing and being enriched by new, popular initiatives in the fields of culture, education, enlightenment and guidance for the younger generation. Significant attention is always paid to strengthening constructive cooperation with the state, and to improving fruitful dialogue between the adherents of Islam and those of Russia’s other traditional religions.”
