The President said, in particular, in his message:
“This holiday marks the start of the New Year by Lunar calendar and symbolises openness, pure thoughts, and the desire for moral renewal. At this time, it is customary to do good deeds, forgive wrongs, and help the needy.
Buddhism’s undying values have for many centuries now served the noble aims of bringing people closer together and strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation. Russia’s Buddhists cherish, preserve, and hand down from one generation to the next this unique spiritual inheritance, make a big contribution to harmonious interethnic and interfaith dialogue in our country and to developing fruitful cooperation between state and public organisations in culture, education, and educating young people, do much to revive spiritual education traditions, and are actively engaged in charity work.”
