Downstairs at the Tyrol House, the President listened to Austrian folk songs and spoke with the musicians, and then went upstairs and sat down at one of the tables, where he discussed the Olympics with Karl Schranz and answered several questions from journalists.
On the subject of the Olympics, the President said, in particular, “We want to create good conditions for the athletes so that they can bring joy to sport fans all around the world. This is our responsibility as the hosts. Of course we hope that people around the world will appreciate our efforts too and will at the very least thank us for the work we have put into organising this celebration for them.”
