The two countries’ leaders discussed prospects for ending tensions in Indian-Pakistani relations. Vladimir Putin informed Tony Blair in detail of his negotiations with the Indian prime minister and the Pakistani president in Almaty on June 4, 2002. The aim of the talks was to support international activities in order to lower the level of the two countries’ confrontation and to persuade the sides to resume dialogue.
Mr Blair praised the Russian President’s efforts and spoke in favour of their further coordinated actions.
