President Vladimir Putin signed a decree declaring a day of mourning for the helicopter crash in the Chechen Republic

August 22, 2002 will be a day of mourning in the Russian Federation.

On August 19, 2002 a Mi-26 Halo military helicopter with 147 people onboard crashed in the Chechen Republic, killing 114 soldiers and pilots.
