Mr Putin said that the CIS would further build its potential. CIS countries’ experts should advance initiatives for further partnership within the CIS in the years to come, offering those initiatives at the next summit.
Mr Putin emphasised that the summit had stressed the necessity to enhance the role of permanent representatives on CIS issues, and more precisely delineate the power between CIS agencies. He said the summit paid special attention to the fight against terrorism, crime and drug trafficking, and to prospects for a free trade zone in the CIS.
