The head of state underlined the need for preparing a plan strengthening the border, especially in the south, and allocating the relevant resources for that purpose. According to the President, the funds would not be too large, but justified. Most important, Mr Putin stressed, was that those funds should be spent efficiently and economically.
The meeting was attended by Chief of Staff of the Russian Armed Forces General Anatoly Kvashnin, Director of the Federal Security Service Nikolai Patrushev, First Deputy Director of the Federal Security Service Vladimir Pronichev and Director of the Federal Border Guard Service Konstantin Totsky.
