During the meeting, President Putin and Sergei Shoigu analysed the situation in Moscow and the regions in connection with forest fires. They also discussed work aimed at restoring normal life in the country’s southern regions following recent flooding.
The Minister reported that the forest services lacked satisfactory technical equipment and facilities and underlined the need to work out a new programme for improving the situation.
Shoigu also said that all the facilities destroyed in the southern regions had been repaired and restored, except those in the Stavropol and Krasnodar regions, where this work should be completed by December 25.
