Mr Putin and Mr Pristavkin discussed the functioning of the new pardon system, which was introduced in Russia in 2002.
Mr Pristavkin told Mr Putin about the results of his trips to various Russian regions. He said he was satisfied with the work of the regional pardon commissions. He also mentioned the unnecessary bodies whose activities hampered the submission of documents to the pardon commissions.
Mr Putin supported stepping up the work on pardoning imprisoned women with infants.
