At Paris Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport, President Vladimir Putin and his wife were met by French President Jacques Chirac. A guard of honour of the three services and National Guards was lined up on the airfield.
Sharing one French Air Force helicopter, the Presidents flew from Roissy to the Place des Invalides, Paris, from where they went to the Arc de Triomphe to lay wreathes at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
