President Putin with Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Khristenko.
Mr Khristenko told the President about the results of the Kiev meeting of the working group which discussed the establishment of a single economic space, which the Presidents of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan had agreed to set up.
The expert meeting outlined the basic principles for creating the Common Economic Space – agreeing on conditions for WTO entry of the countries which are members of the single economic space, and harmonising the monetary and tariff policy.
The working group intended to formulate the concept for creating the Common Economic Space by early June 2003.
