Putin said that the cooperation between Russia and NATO on the fight against international terrorism, non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, reaction to crises and other issues is of prime importance, especially in light of the most recent tragic events – the terrorist attacks in Chechnya and Saudi Arabia. Putin said that in both attacks the handwriting was identical and the consequences comparable.
Putin said that Russia highly appreciates Lord Robertson’s personal contribution to laying a new foundation for cooperation between NATO and Russia. “Though we have had some different points of view regarding certain situations in the world, the council has lived up to our expectations,” Putin said.
