The meeting between President Putin, on the one hand, and Chinese President Hu Jintao, and Presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan, Askar Akayev of Kyrgyzstan and Islam Karimov of Uzbekistan, on the other hand, was an informal one.
The next day they will continue their official negotiations at a meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council.
