Awards for literature and the arts were given at the Kremlin

In St Catherine’s Hall of the Kremlin, President Putin gave State Prizes for Literature and the Arts for 2002, Prizes of the Russian President for Literature and the Arts for 2002, the Bulat Okudzhava Prize for 2002 and the Pushkin Prize for Poetry for 2003.

The well-known choreographer Roland Petit was among the recipients of the State Prize for Literature and the Arts. He was honoured for staging the ballet “La Dame des Piques” (The Queen of Spades) at the Bolshoi.
