The Minister briefed the President on the results of the meeting of representatives of more than 30 Russian and international non-governmental and human rights groups held at the Ministry in early June.
Yury Chaika noted that the meeting had decided to set up a Human Rights Council under the Justice Ministry, which would include experts, representatives of human rights organisations and of the Ministry.
Yury Chaika said the Justice Ministry was preparing to issue a decree on the interaction between the Ministry and non-governmental and human rights organisations on the protection of human rights and management of the prison system.
