The Russian President noted that the activities of the Conservative Party, which had produced such brilliant leaders as Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher, were well known in Russia.
Russia and Britain managed to accomplish a great deal together, especially during the Second World War. The relations now being maintained benefit both countries, Vladimir Putin stressed.
For his part Ian Duncan Smith noted the great successes achieved by Russia in the economy and world politics, stressing Russia’s full membership of the G8.
