Mr Putin thanked the Government and the Federal Assembly for their work during the first half of the year.
President Putin said that all priority bills were implemented. He mentioned the legislative package on the division of powers between the federal centre, federation constituent entities and local authorities, and taxation system changes.
The participants in the meeting paid special attention to the development of Kaliningrad’s transport infrastructure. President Putin instructed the Prime Minister to take personal control of the construction of a railway and port terminal in the Kaliningrad Region.
Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Khristenko told Mr Putin about his trip to Vladivostok, where a meeting of the Russian-Japanese inter-governmental commission on trade and economic issues took place. The participants in the meeting primarily discussed energy cooperation and investment possibilities for developing the Sakhalin shelf.
