President Putin said national security agencies had been overhauled and that no other changes were needed. He said military development was the main priority in the next few years. The Russian leader said the state must re-equip the armed forces, enhance the potential of permanent-readiness units and strengthen the officer-and-sergeant corps.
President Putin expressed hope that the substantial human resources of the country’s armed forces and their technical potential would help to successfully implement all military reform aspects.
Forty-two officers were promoted.
