The discussion focused on the situation in the Chechen Republic, in particular, the transfer of security responsibility from the Federal Security Service to the Internal Affairs Ministry. The participants in the meeting also discussed the establishment of law enforcement bodies, the prosecutor’s office and courts in the republic.
Mr Gryzlov said the transfer of responsibility for the counter-terrorist operation from the Federal Security Service to the Internal Affairs Ministry would be accomplished by September 1.
