The participants in the meeting discussed the issues of education, protection of water resources, the problems in some economic sectors and the developments in the Chechen Republic.
The President expressed his satisfaction that the Government had paid adequate attention to the system of professional training, and called upon the Ministers to step up their work there. Mr Putin said the Russian economy needed professionals and that need would continue to grow.
The President expressed his concern over the use of water resources and said the issue would be discussed at the following meeting of the State Council presidium.
Minister of Internal Affairs Boris Gryzlov told the President about the work of his department in the Chechen Republic and answered his question about coordinating activities between the Internal Affairs Ministry, Defence Ministry and Federal Security Service in the Chechen Republic.
