The meeting continued the discussion of trade issues. Another topic discussed was the fight against terrorism.
President Putin called for more active international cooperation in countering that evil and urged the need for better coordination among the law enforcement bodies of various countries. The measures aimed at neutralising the terrorist threat, Mr Putin stressed, need not impede business travel.
Among other subjects discussed was the implementation of the Shanghai strategy for introducing new electronic technologies.
Based on the results of the summit, the Bangkok Declaration on Partnership for the Future was passed which, among other things, supports Russia’s early accession to the WTO.
