Mr Putin and King Abdullah II discussed the state and prospects for bilateral relations, economic and military-technical cooperation, the fight against international terrorism, as well as ways of settling the Palestine-Israel problem and the Iraqi crisis.
Mr Putin thanked the King of Jordan for his support of Russia’s intention to develop cooperation with the Organisation of Islamic Conference.
King Abdullah II of Jordan highly praised Mr Putin’s personal contribution to the development of Russian-Jordanian contacts, as well as Russia’s role in strengthening peace and stability in the Middle East.
This is the fifth meeting of the two leaders since 2001. The visit by the Jordanian King to Moscow continues the practice of exchanging opinions on different issues of domestic and foreign policy between the leaderships of the countries with due account taken of common approaches to the general problems of international relations and respect for each other’s national interests.
