Priority measures for improving the social and economic situation and ensuring security in the republic were the subject of discussion.
The meeting was a continuation of the discussions that Mr Medvedev held in Ingushetia’s capital, Magas, on January 20.
The President said that the republic’s biggest priority now is to resolve social problems, including unemployment. The second priority is to make the authorities’ work more effective and give the public greater confidence in them. Mr Medvedev said that efforts in these two areas would also help lower the crime rate, which is another of Ingushetia’s biggest tasks at the moment.
Mr Yevkurov informed the President about the steps the authorities in the republic are taking and the areas in which they require support from the federal authorities.
