President Putin suggested Mikhail Kasyanov as a candidate for chairman of the Presidential Council for Fight against Corruption. The participants unanimously supported the proposal.
The chairman of the council will be elected for a term of six months. The President stressed that the organisational period should be completed as soon as possible, and the council’s expert and working mechanisms should be set up quickly.
Mr Putin proposed establishing two commissions at the council – an anti-corruption commission and a dispute settlement commission.
The anti-corruption commission will be headed by Deputy Prime Minister Boris Alyoshin, and the dispute settlement commission by First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Dmitry Kozak.
The council should meet for its next session in a month.
