Mr Aliyev warmly congratulated Mr Putin on his re-election as President, stressing that Azerbaijan never doubted the choice of the Russian people.
During their conversation, the Presidents emphasised the strategic importance of Russian-Azerbaijani relations and expressed confidence in their further consistent development.
The conversation took place on Azerbaijan’s initiative.
