The message read, in part:
“Russia and Brazil share their positions on most current international problems. Above all, that means the maintenance of strategic stability, the strengthening of the central role of the UN, the promotion of the principles of multi-lateral diplomacy, consolidation of the legal framework of the world order, and the formation of a global system to counter new threats and challenges. We are committed to still more active interaction in the building of a multi-polar world and the search for ways to settle the more acute global problems.
“We are satisfied with the results of the third meeting of the inter-governmental Russian-Brazilian commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation held in Brasilia in February this year. In our opinion, the necessary conditions are emerging for elevating the relations between our countries to a new level, including cooperation in production on the basis of high technologies, in the fields of aviation, rocketry, space exploration, energy and medicine.”
The message was delivered by the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Sergei Mironov, who is on an official visit in Brazil.
