New Russian weapons, including strategic ones, are not being developed for aggression, Vladimir Putin told a press conference at the Titov Main Space Test and Control Centre.
Russia not only develops new strategic weapons, like all the members of the nuclear club. Russia thinks it can afford to share its plans with its French colleagues, the President said.
That, he added, shows that Russia is transparent and open on security issues.
Among other issues touched upon during the press conference were international cooperation in the field of security and the fight against terror, relations between Russia and the European Union and the situation in Kosovo.
