It was the first such meeting Mr Putin held after winning the presidential elections on March 14.
Speaker of the Federation Council Sergei Mironov, Speaker of the State Duma Boris Gryzlov, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Vladislav Surkov, as well as Deputy Speakers of the Federation Council Dmitry Mezentsev, Mikhail Nikolayev, Svetlana Orlova and Alexander Torshin, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Vladimir Zhirinovsky, leaders of the Communist and Motherland parties in the Duma Gennady Zyuganov and Dmitry Rogozin all attended the meeting.
