President Putin said he was closely following the situation in Ukraine in the run-up to the elections. Russia would accept any decision of the Ukrainian people, Mr Putin said.
Russia would do everything to maintain the level of relations achieved in recent years, the President noted.
Taking part in the meeting was the Chief of the Russian President’s Staff Dmitry Medvedev.
