The Russian President and his wife watched a performance of the ballet Romeo and Juliet produced by Declan Donnellan. Also present were the French Ambassador to Russia Jean Cadet and his wife Marie Elisabeth Cadet and participants in the international Russian-French Youth Meeting.
The Forum, called “Youth Intersection”, organized by the “Russian Language Development Center”, a Regional Non-Governmental Fund, brought together 30 Russian and 30 French school pupils who have shown an interest in various aspects of social, cultural, economic and political life of Russia and France, and the problems of the development of the European Union.
The mains tasks of the Forum are to strengthen mutual understanding and trust among the young people of the two countries.
During the break the Russian President and his wife met with the participants in the Youth Forum. President Putin wished them success.
Vladimir and Lyudmila Putin asked the school pupils whether they liked it in Moscow. Mr Putin said he thought the programme would be interesting for the Russian participants because the Forum covered all the Russian regions, and it was not often that Russians from remote cities had a chance to visit Moscow and the Bolshoi.
