At a press conference after a conversation with Mexican President Vicente Fox and Russian-Mexican talks, President Vladimir Putin pointed out that the Soviet Union traditionally had very amicable ties with the entire continent.
Taking into account the potential of Latin American countries, and the growth of their economic potential and weight on the international scene, Russia does not have the right not to give this area of its policy the necessary attention, Vladimir Putin said, stressing that Russia will work with all countries on the continent.
