A Russia-Bulgaria summit took place in the Kremlin

The Presidents of two countries, Vladimir Putin and Georgi Parvanov, had a private conversation and then they presided over intergovernmental consultations in extended format. They discussed relevant issues of bilateral cooperation and prospects for further development of trade, cultural and tourist's ties. Mr Putin and Mr Parvanov also talked about the possible participation of the Russian companies in various infrastructural projects in Bulgaria.

The leaders of two countries exchanged their opinions on certain international problems. They noted the necessity of the strengthening the security in Europe, as well as of close cooperation in fighting against terrorism, drug-trafficking and other serious challenges of the XXIst century. Mr Putin highly assessed the role of Bulgaria in solving local conflicts in the Balkans and expressed his hope in close cooperation in establishing peace in the whole region.

On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of establishing the diplomatic ties between Russia and Bulgaria the Presidents adopted a Joint Statement. At their presence the members of both delegations signed a package of bilateral documents on partnership in cinema production and justice.

Following their talks Vladimir Putin and Georgi Parvanov held a joint news conference.
