Leonid Reiman has briefed the Russian President on the progress of the Electronic Russia program.
Most part of the funds allocated by the program for 2004 will be spent to provide Internet access to schools and towns situated far from big cities. Soon Russia will see an increase in the number of Internet and mobile phones users, Reiman believes. In the first six months of 2004 the number of mobile phone users has grown by 13 million. Investment in the industry has soared. Communications structure is being developed in the rural areas.
