Alexei II told the President about the creation of an CIS council of different religions, dialogue with the Roman Catholic Church, and the return to Russia of the list from the icon of Our Lady of Kazan.
The Patriarch also spoke of the Council of Higher Clergy Members and the Church public forum to be held in October this year, where issues will be discussed of strengthening the family, and moral problems of society.
The President said that he hoped the Council and the forum would be an important part of public discussion.
