The Russian President expressed his condolences for the people killed in terrorist acts in the cities of Taba and Nuweiba.
The message reads: “I am deeply shaken by the news of the monstrous terrorist acts in the Egyptian cities of Taba and Nuweiba. The victims of this murderous deed were dozens of innocent people – Egyptians, Russians, and citizens of other countries. The people of Russia sincerely sympathise and share the bitter feeling of this tragedy, and condemn this foul crime committed on the Sinai Peninsula.
Terrorists have unleashed a war against all of mankind, against civilisation. And we must oppose them with tough consolidated resistance, solidarity and the coordinated efforts of the international community. Our duty is to develop bilateral cooperation in the war on international terrorism. I am certain that Russian-Egyptian cooperation in this sphere is a firm link in the anti-terrorist coalition.
In these mournful hours I would ask for my condolences to be passed on to the people of Europe, and to the families and friends of those killed and injured.”
