In an interview with Chinese media on the eve of his visit to the People’s Republic of China, President Vladimir Putin stressed that terrorists use violent methods to harm innocent people.
To fight terrorism successfully, it is necessary to do away with the stereotypes and rhetoric of the “cold war”, when the same actions by the same organisations were explained differently depending on the political situation – either as terrorist acts, or as a liberating struggle for independence.
It is necessary to abandon the politics of double standards and develop a common position for the international community in opposing international terrorism.
President Putin particularly noted the joint work of Russia and China in the framework of international organisations, above all the UN and the SCO, in developing measures to liquidate the global threat to international stability and order.
