The message reads:
“I am grateful for your letter of 10 September 2004 about Saudi Arabia’s initiative to hold an international conference on issues of fighting terrorism in Riyadh at the beginning of February 2005. I believe that the idea to call a representative forum in order to strengthen the mechanisms for opposing new challenges and threats, and above all such a universal evil as international terrorism, are very important and worthy of support.
The recent events in Russia and Saudi Arabia have once more shown that the terrorist threat is global, and that this dangerous phenomenon can only be dealt with by unifying efforts and acting in a consolidated manner. Therefore, Russia gives primary importance to the task of strengthening the anti-terrorist coalition, and increasing the effectiveness of its actions. I am certain that the conference in Riyadh will assist this goal.”
